Sorry I missed a week there. I see a subscriber took off. That's a shame. I've been trying to update consistently for ten years but this week got the best of me with illness and a lot of work,
Yep. A lucky find in the Naval History museum.
Also, I see what you did there. Wouldn't want it to go unacknowledged.
Thanks for reading and commenting, Steak!
It's a big part of the World War Z book in that it's the first major military engagement between the U.S. army and a city-sized zombie horde. It's basically a complete disaster since most modern weapons and tactics are really inefficient at killing zombies; there's a part where tanks are firing armor-piercing rounds into the horde and it does basically nothing since mutilated zombies still keep attacking, which I think was the tie-in with the cannon.
I did end up looking it up and reading a bit about WWZ. Sounds like the book was much better than the film. I think a tank would be pretty impervious to zombie attacks bu5 I suppos3 in WWZ the zombies formed those hive mind shapes...so that could be a problem.
In The Restless Dead a ship's cannon full of screws and bike chains should have the desired effect.
