Probably a cheap display sword. Fall apart as soon a you try to use it.

Yeah, but my first impression is that he's not the type to know the difference. Also, in general I feel like swords with runes or other flashy decoration are less likely to be authentic.

Heh, I tried to really tone down the decoration and make an authentic looking, plane sword. I suppose I got carried away.

It's not that it's too flashy, it's just the runes. In my head I just associate runes with fake swords or "the chosen one's" sword in TV shows. I don't know if that's accurate or not, but it's how I see them.
